mais, plus pr\u00e9occupante, <strong>c&rsquo;est la conscience des r\u00e9alit\u00e9s patrimoniales qui reste tragiquement sous-d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e, en particulier chez la plupart des d\u00e9cideurs&#8230; avec des cons\u00e9quences qui ne limitent pas au patrimoine artistique et ethnologique.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il y a une r\u00e9elle difficult\u00e9\u00a0 \u00e0 porter attention \u00e0 ce qui nous entoure: observer,analyser, transmettre, <strong>prendre le temps qu&rsquo;il faut<\/strong>,ce sont des comportements inhumains et souvent incompris et m\u00e9pris\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>S&rsquo;int\u00e9resser \u00e0 ces traces am\u00e8ne \u00e0\u00a0 consid\u00e9rer aussi\u00a0 :l&rsquo;Inventivit\u00e9 rurale,les ressources du monde v\u00e9g\u00e9tal, min\u00e9ral, animal, des gens du pays ,des archives familiales; en fait tout ce qui touche \u00e0 leur\u00a0 contexte et \u00e0 leur environnement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cette d\u00e9marche aboutit,de fait, \u00e0 r\u00e9unir doucement les \u00e9l\u00e9ments d&rsquo;une sorte d&rsquo;Encyclop\u00e9die populaire , n\u00e9cessairement compl\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;Encyclop\u00e9die des \u00ab\u00a0savants\u00a0\u00bb&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>THE FUTURE OF UBAYE&rsquo;S PETROGLYPHS<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>Here we are close to the end of a discovery trip of a poorly known part of our Heritage.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>These modest traces show typical characteristics:<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>they are , of course,unimpeachable<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>-they provide direct information, without thranslation, neither fading<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>-it is the expression of unknown ,almost dumb or inaudible people<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>-by opposition to most of archeological artifacts, they are clear, rather explicit or interpretable<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>-Some of them carry an artistic, emotional,and evocative potential<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>-they exhibit a large diversity<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>-the engraving tradition is still alive in these valleys<br \/>\n<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>WE ARE FACING SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN CURIOSITIES AND FEW ELEMENTS OF SAID \u00ab\u00a0GREAT-HERITAGE\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0 CARRY SO MANY MERITS.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>These characteristics clearly show that the Heritage definition shoud be broadened: a set- heritage is a nonsense, but the most worrying characteristic is the underdevelopment of consciousness of heritage realities mainly by decision-makers\u00a0 and not only in the fields of art\u00a0 and ethnology.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>It is quite difficult to pay attention to our environment: observation, analysis,transmission,and <strong>managing the necessary time<\/strong> and delay are inhuman and generally misunderstood and scorned.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>Looking at these traces require also to consider rural inventiveness,vegetal, mineral, animal resources as well as family archives; in fact\u00a0 everything linked to their context and environment.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>This strategy leads to a slow compilation of the elements of some \u00ab\u00a0Popular Encyclopedy\u00a0\u00bb; necessarily complementary to \u00ab\u00a0Erudit&rsquo;s one\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cela peut para\u00eetre utopique, mais nous avons besoin d&rsquo;informations historiques incontestables et vivantes &#8230;nous avons besoin plus que jamais de nous situer ,nous avons besoin de r\u00eave et d&rsquo;\u00e9motion ; We have good reasons to underline that\u00a0 autodidacts and voluntary people played a key-role in the past ,and to-date, there is no new element in contradiction, moreover working on\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 large number of documents requires their help.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Une premi\u00e8re r\u00e8gle peut \u00eatre \u00e9nonc\u00e9e: <strong>la prospection doit \u00eatre syst\u00e9matique et s&rsquo;affranchir de tout pr\u00e9jug\u00e9 ou auto-censure<\/strong>: \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des emplacements , des zones \u00e0 gravures logiques , il a des sites impr\u00e9visibles.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Il en va de m\u00eame pour l&rsquo;appr\u00e9ciation des documents: il n&rsquo;y a jamais, a-priori, de trace n\u00e9gligeable, insignifiante, m\u00eame si elle est r\u00e9p\u00e9titive ou d&rsquo;apparence banale. Il faut toujours un minimum d&rsquo;observations concordantes pour acc\u00e9der \u00e0 une certitude raisonnable&#8230;et raisonn\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Nous devons admettre que les motivations des graveurs nous sont encore en partie \u00e9trang\u00e8res et on ne peut donc rien n\u00e9gliger.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>\u00a0A first rule is: <strong>systematic prospecting\u00a0<\/strong> , avoiding theory and censorship: beside \u00ab\u00a0evident\u00a0\u00bb areas for petroglyphs we have <em>also <\/em>unexpected\u00a0\u00a0 zones. The same\u00a0 strategy is required about quality and\u00a0 value valuation of traces:<strong> we never face insignificant traces,<\/strong> even if they look repetitive, or dull.And we always need a minimum of coherent findings-observations , to reach some reasonable certainty. Typically it often allows easier readability\u00a0 and highlights unexpected obliterations.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>-LE CAS EXTREME DES <strong>GRAVURES PEU LISIBLES<\/strong> est assez fr\u00e9quent: tout surlignage serait inefficace et destructeur;<\/p>\n<p><strong>L&rsquo;HUMECTATION<\/strong> DU SUPPORT peut am\u00e9liorer parfois les contrastes avec le risque\u00a0 de provoquer un choc Depending on rain these black traces will unfortunately remain for 1 to 2 years, without destructive effect.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pour \u00eatre complet; signalons qu&rsquo;il existe des techniques de traitement des images num\u00e9riques, de balayage laser (et de d\u00e9convolution du signal) ou de photographie en lumi\u00e8re ultra-violette qui permettent aux sp\u00e9cialistes de mettre en \u00e9vidence des traces invisibles \u00e0 l&rsquo;oeil nu, qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agisse de gravures ou de peintures.\u00a0 C&rsquo;est la perspective de pouvoir revisiter le patrimoine rep\u00e9r\u00e9\u00a0 avec la probabilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;enrichir consid\u00e9rablement le parc de gravures actuellement visibles \u00e0 l&rsquo;oeil nu ,par celui des traces peintes ou tr\u00e8s faiblement incis\u00e9es .<\/p>\n<p>Une revue extr\u00e8mement d\u00e9taill\u00e9e de ces techniques\u00a0 a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tablie par les Universit\u00e9s de Bournemouth et l&rsquo;\u00a0 University College (Londres) en 2000: \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 ROCK ART PILOT PROJECT&#8230;\u00a0 , elle est consultable sur Internet.<\/p>\n<p>Ces bonnes pratiques ne doivent pas d\u00e9courager l&rsquo;amateur<strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>la prospection, la sauvegarde, l&rsquo;interpr\u00e9tation doivent conserver leur agilit\u00e9, leur opportunisme, leur a-propos et finalement leur efficacit\u00e9&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Deux exemples illustrent la puissance de ces nouvelles techniques:<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le traitement informatique des donn\u00e9es a permis \u00e0\u00a0 A.ARCA en 1994 de d\u00e9couvrir, \u00e0 la gauche (pour l&rsquo;observateur) de l&rsquo;Orant de l&rsquo;Ubaye (Fig\u00a0 2 ) la trace d&rsquo;un guerrier, invisible \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du jour.<\/p>\n<p>A STONEHENGE, des \u00e9tudes r\u00e9centes en balayage laser-(2011) ont permis de d\u00e9couvrir d&rsquo;infimes traces grav\u00e9es en grand nombre, pratiquement invisibles auparavant.<\/p>\n<p>On voit qu&rsquo;une simple gravure est \u00e0 m\u00eame de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer une abondance de documents\u00a0 et de r\u00e9p\u00e9titions (il n&rsquo;est pas rare d&rsquo;avoir une dizaine de photos parfaitement compl\u00e9mentaires pour une m\u00eame trace) ; il faudra\u00a0 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9vidence savoir les relier \u00e0 la fiche d&rsquo;origine et les g\u00e9rer convenablement.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>\u00a0Very sophisticated techniques must also be mentioned such as image processing,laser scanning, U.V light photography;
